I don’t think there is any one way to communicate. Each person on the receiving end of the communication is different. Some can understand short and concise written explanations. Others require verbal communication either over the phone or face-to-face.

Keep it simple and offer further explanation where needed. Be understanding that payroll issues or changes impact people’s lives significantly so being discrete and compassionate are always important.
